Marketing Lessons From A Girl Scout
Who knew you could learn lessons in marketing from a Girl Scout?
But one young lady came up with an inspired business plan – and the results have been astounding.
Danielle Lei, 13, from San Francisco, was determined to sell as many cookies as she could in as little time as possible.
Thinking out of the box she set up her stall outside a marijuana dispensary and then proceeded to sell 117 boxes of Tagalongs and Thin Mints in under two hours.
Her mother said she saw it as a way of teaching her daughter about the difference between using drugs for recreation or for medication – but best of all, the entrepreneurial schoolgirl made a lot of money for her charities.
In fact, she was so popular that the dispensary invited her to set up her stall again any time she wants.
But what can a small business learn here?
Simply this; clever Danielle went where she was wanted.
She put herself in the way of sales.
The teen targeted a niche market but one that she knew would appreciate her product. It was a stroke of pure genius.
So the question is, where are you going to sell your ‘cookies’ that will make them irresistible to the buying public?
Where are you wanted?
