WANT MORE VISIBILITY?
There are eight things you must pay attention to if you want your business to stay visible, relevant, and irresistible.
There are eight things you must pay attention to if you want your business to stay visible, relevant, and irresistible.
At Black Ink PR & Marketing, we call them the Unignorables. Because if you ignore them, you do so at your peril.
Think of them as your basic visibility plan. They’re not boring chores, they’re tools for triumph. In the past you needed endless lunches, meetings and manicured smiles to get noticed. But in today’s world, you just need the right strategy, applied with consistency.
So, here are your eight marketing Unignorables:
1. PR = Reputation
Your PR is what people say when you’re not in the room. To stand out, be newsworthy and relevant. Ask yourself: why you, and why now? Craft stories that connect with your audience, solve their problems, and are timely. PR and AI now work hand-in-hand: answer real questions, link to credible sources, and make yourself discoverable and trustworthy.
2. Website
Your website is your digital shop window. A clunky site signals a clunky business, and no one wants to hand over their money to something that feels stuck in the pre-iPhone era. A professional, well-maintained site signals credibility, relevance, and competence. Ignore it, and you’ll be ignored.
3. Social Media Marketing
Be present, responsive, and consistent. Show your team working efficiently and joyously (ditch those icky sales pitches over stock photos). This will lead to valuable relationship building and ensure that customers are receptive to your message. Consistent, well-crafted social media builds relationships, strengthens loyalty, and generates sales – and all for free.
4. Email List
Social media can ghost you overnight, but your email list is yours forever (and is yours to control). It connects you directly to customers who want your news, offers, and updates – and is a great way to generate buzz about new products and services. Your mailing list is created in your image meaning the person on the other end receives branded content from you every time you send out a mailer (like this one!).
5. SEO
SEO is about making your site easy to find and navigate. Fresh, keyword-rich content, a clear structure, and smart visuals all boost your discoverability. When your website appears on the first page of a major search engine, or very near the top, potential clients are more likely to trust your brand and become loyal customers. If your site can’t be found, it might as well not exist.
6. Visuals
As mentioned briefly above, strong visuals convert attention into action. Customers need to see your products or services clearly and easily. If photos or graphics are missing or hard to access, you’ll lose business, no matter how great your offering is. The unignorable is that people need to see every aspect of what you do, so don’t make them work for it. Make your photos and videos are dazzling, unique, and capture attention.
7. Customer Reviews
Engage with every review you get, whether it’s positive or negative. I’ve seen businesses pour money into Meta ads only to completely ignore what’s happening on the comments. When they do that, it sends a clear message: the company doesn’t care. Thank fans, reward loyalty, and handle criticism promptly. Positive interactions encourage repeat business and set an example for potential customers.
8. Feedback, Engagement & Community
Every comment is an opportunity to learn and gain valuable insight. Engagement isn’t just about responding quickly, it’s about building connections. Foster loyalty by creating spaces where your audience feels valued, whether through social media, user generated content, influencer engagement, mailing lists, or events. A connected community turns customers into advocates who will happily amplify your message.
